Cloud Face Scan

Clock in and out using face recognition from your phone — no app or barcode needed.

What is Cloud Face Scan?

Cloud Face Scan lets workers clock in and out by scanning their face with a phone camera. A QR code is posted at the job site — scan it with your phone, allow camera access, and the system recognizes you and records your time automatically.

How to Use It

  1. Scan the Cloud Face Scan QR code posted at your location with your phone camera
  2. Tap the link to open the face scan page in your browser
  3. Allow camera access when prompted
  4. Position your face within the oval guide on screen
  5. Hold still — the system will automatically recognize you
  6. A confirmation message shows your name and whether you clocked in or out

No app required. Cloud Face Scan works entirely in your phone's browser. Just scan the QR code and go.

Before You Can Use It

Your administrator must set up face recognition for your account before Cloud Face Scan will work:

  • Your face photo must be uploaded and processed by the system
  • The location must have a Cloud Face Scan QR code set up
  • Face encoding must show "Ready" status in your profile

How It Differs from Kiosk Face Scan

Cloud Face Scan Kiosk Face Scan
Device Worker's own phone Dedicated tablet or Raspberry Pi
Setup QR code at the location Hardware installed on-site
Processing Server-side (cloud) On-device (local)
Internet required Yes, always Works offline

Troubleshooting

  • "Camera requires HTTPS" — Make sure you are on a secure connection (the URL starts with https://)
  • "Camera access denied" — Allow camera permissions in your browser settings and reload the page
  • "No face detected" — Ensure your face is clearly visible, well-lit, and centered in the oval guide
  • "No matching face found" — Your face photo may not be registered for this project. Contact your administrator
  • "Too many attempts" — Wait a minute before trying again. The system limits requests to prevent abuse

Tip: For best results, make sure your face is evenly lit and remove sunglasses or hats that cover your face. The system works best with the same conditions as your registered photo.
